Teeth braces appeal to people of all ages

Teeth braces have never looked better—especially when they are invisible!

Teeth braces aren’t just for kids, you know. More and more adults are getting braces and the primary reason is that they want their smiles to look their very best. In fact, one third of those wearing braces today are adults. Teeth braces are not what they used to be, either. They come in all types from the old fashioned type to the newer clear teeth braces such as Invisalign® braces. With such choices, adults are opting for clear braces because the one, show-stopper reason has been addressed: “I’m too old to be showing braces on my teeth.”

Clearly a good decision

Clear teeth braces, or more precisely, clear teeth aligners–as they are not really braces at all, can work for you whether you have teeth that are crooked, gapped, crowded, or even if you have an overbite or an under bite. Now that invisible braces (as they are sometimes called) are available, you may be surprised how little they show and also how affordable they can be. There is no time like the present to check into it with your Gilbert Dentists, they can help answer your questions about getting started.

What are invisible braces and how are they made?

Invisible braces (again, clear teeth aligners) are made through the use of clear, space-age plastic materials designed through the use of computer technology and three-dimensional imaging and modeling. The inside surface of your clear aligners are designed to fit directly over your existing teeth. They are designed to move your teeth into the exact desired position but by one step at a time. Every couple of weeks, you get a new set that moves the teeth a little farther. Then a couple of weeks later, another slightly modified set replaces that one. In this way, you eventually get the teeth into the exact position you want to make your smile an even more perfect one.

Your teeth are moved, little by little, in this manner for about 6 months to a 1 year depending on the amount of movement needed from their original positions. Other braces with wire and bracket architecture can take up to three years to accomplish the goal. Invisalign works. There are over a half-million people out there who have completed the process and they will tell you, and show you, it works. Metal braces are tough

Tough to clean—but delicate. A wearer of braces needs to be careful of bumps and also of certain foods. One of the most annoying aspects of wire and bracket braces is getting your teeth clean. Also, not getting your teeth as clean as possible has consequences when the metal braces are finally removed. Invisalign clear aligners can be removed for eating or cleaning, and that makes a great deal of difference to the wearer.

Cost and duration

Both the cost and the duration of wear are dependent on individual differences. It is impossible to say one way or another for certain prior to a full evaluation. Suffice it to say that the price for Invisalign is in the same range as the price for metal braces but maximum duration for Invisalign would be 1 ½ years where metal braces could take as long as 3 years.

Hopefully, now you can clearly see the difference

Now that you no longer have to worry about what corrective braces will look like on your teeth, with Invisalign braces, made for you by your Queen Creek Dentist, you can wear braces that can hardly be seen. The primary reason for adults not to wear braces —the old, clunky metal ones—is now gone, and you can have a smile that looks its very best while still having a great smile in the meantime.
