What are my options for dentures?

At Goodman Dental Center, you have a choice of what type of denture will best fit your needs. Dentures consist of a flesh-colored acrylic base that fits firmly over your gums. This base covers the roof of your mouth to fill in top teeth or is made into a horseshoe shape for the lower teeth.

Partial or full options are available. Partial dentures fill in for natural teeth when you’re missing a few teeth, but still have some natural teeth. Full dentures replace an entire row of missing teeth

With full dentures, a flesh-colored acrylic base fits over your gums. The base of the upper denture covers the palate (the roof of your mouth), while that of the lower denture is shaped like a horseshoe to accommodate your tongue.

The team at Goodman Dental Center also offers dentures that clip onto implants – metal posts set into your jaw bone where your natural tooth root used to be. These dentures can also be permanently fixed in place.

What are the advantages of dentures?

Dentures are a solid, affordable replacement for missing teeth. They last several years, but must be remade, repaired, and readjusted due to normal wear and changes in your mouth. Usually, regular visits to Goodman Dental Center every six months keeps your dentures in good shape.

What are immediate dentures?

At Goodman Dental Center, you can select conventional or immediate dentures. Immediate dentures are usually the choice when you’ve lost your teeth to decay, illness, or injury and need quick placement. These dentures are premade and placed right away, so you don’t have to go without teeth at any time. They aren’t customized to your mouth and need regular realignment as your gum tissue shrinks with healing.

Immediate dentures are usually an option when you’re deciding on the best type of long-term denture to choose.
